Which One of Your Books Should Readers Start With? I suppose we all want readers to start with the first book in a series. My first is Dead Before Morning #1 (of 15) in my Rafferty & Llewellyn procedural series.Though, as other books in the Rafferty series have garnered better reviews it might be smarter to recommend one of them! My personal favourite is Dying for You #6 Rafferty. This one seems to be more popular in the UK than the US. Probably something to do with the differing senses of humour.  Again, for me, it depends on whether you're talking US or US readers. In the UK, my bestseller is my one and only historical (Reluctant Queen 227 UK sales). In the US, in July, my bestseller was Up in Flames #1 in my (2-strong) Casey & Catt procedural
Best Advice You've Gotten Re: Being An Indie? Best piece of advice re indie publishing? Just do it!  Other than that: Do the maths. And if, like me, your maths skills are not up to the job, Joe Konrath has done a number of studies of his own figures on his blog over the years (jakonrath.blogspot.com); it might be worth seeing how much better off going indie has made him and then trying a comparison.
